Ella Casten

Ella Casten was born on June 10th, 2010 and diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 2 on August 12, 2011. This rare neuromuscular disease has no known treatments or cure. Her motor neurons are dying and will continue to die. Her dad, a local school teacher, mom and two older siblings are committed to caring for her but above all, just loving her.

This first race was planned in just over two weeks! The runner bags consisted of a jewel bag with an XXL t-shirt. But it was just the beginning of No Frills Fun Run.
